1.The Jesus of Nazareth

In the Western Tradition much has been written about the Jesus of Nazareth also known as Jesus Christ. With more than a billion followers in the world, Christianity remains the largest single religion followed in the world. Today, Jesus Christ is thought of more than a Moral Teacher or a Great prophet but is believed by many as a physical form of the god or on earth. Jesus started his ministry when he was around 30 and was crucified by the Romans. Though not much is known about his early life, some believe he followed Buddhism early for a while.
It is believed that Jesus before he left for heaven, showed himself to the 12 apostles, who later continued to spread the word as is written in the four canonical gospels of Matthew, Marc, Luke and John.
It is also believed that Jesus will return to the earth and rule for 1000 years.

These recitation were recorded and they together make the holy ‘Quran’. Born in 570 CE in Mecca, a Arabian city. He became a political and military leader in order to reach out to people and preach them post his 40 in Medina, Arabia. He is often misunderstood as synonymous to Islam, which according to west, is a religion of Islam. Although he was strict in the military matters, he had to be in the way only to survive, his preaching were gentlemanly.

Gautama Buddha’s real life name is Siddhartha Gautama was a prince who spent his early life in luxury. He further embarked a journey leaving all these perks behind towards achieving “meaning” of life. Before becoming a ascetic, who lived only on a handful of nuts, several years were in destitution. Sitting underneath a Bodhi tree for 49 days until he realized that way to enlightenment is leaving all the desires in life. Which further took him to a state of Nirvana.
Buddha actually means “one who is enlightened”. He was born in Nepal in around 500 BCE. His preaching quickly attracted a lot of people, laying a foundation for eastern faith structures, Buddhism.

Krishna is believed to be the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Hinduism – a religion that is perhaps 5,000 years old. Lord Vishnu is considered as one of the main deities in the Hindu religion and also believed be the top greatest religious figures of all time.

Confucius is a Chinese philosopher who was born in 551 BCE and have originated the famous golden rule “Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself.”
Confucius emphasized on personal, civic and governmental mortality. He also thought family loyalty was important- the world’s oldest religion of ancestor worshiping.
He preached the value of diplomacy over warfare, although this did not stop him from punishing the lawbreakers. Along this way, he created a body of preaching and this became the basis of Confucianism.
Confucianism is not only considered as a religion but a way of living.
